David Spiller - Hot off the press!

TAG is thrilled to be releasing two new limited edition prints by David Spiller continuing his exploration of pop imagery, depicting Disney favourite Donald Duck and his girlfriend Daisey.

Spiller’s art is filled with life and energy, compressing a world of influences, ideas and impressions in his beautiful prints. These are the latest in a series that depict popular cartoon characters: previous pairs have included Olive and Popeye and Minnie and Mickey mouse. Over and around these colourful figures, Spiller introduces intuitive freehand texts including lines from his favourite songs. His work combines the punchy, bold aesthetics of Pop Art, with his own brand of expressionism influenced by Dubuffet, Picasso and his first teacher, Frank Auerbach. Fun and sincere at the same time, these works capture the imagination of adults and children alike and are bound to be as successful as his previous ones.
